ROLL FOR

REPRESENTATION

At Super Heroines, Etc. (SHE), we believe tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) are more than just games—they’re tools for storytelling, creativity, and connection. Unfortunately, the lack of diverse voices in gaming spaces means that many stories remain untold. That’s where Roll for Representation comes in.

What is Roll for Representation?

Roll for Representation is a leadership program designed to empower women, non-binary individuals, and underrepresented genders to take on the role of Game Master (GM). GMs are at the heart of any TTRPG session, shaping the worlds we explore and the narratives we share. By equipping participants with the skills and confidence to lead, we’re creating more inclusive and equitable gaming spaces.

What We Do

Training New GMs

Through workshops and mentorship, we teach participants how to design games, build engaging worlds, and foster welcoming, inclusive tables.

Creating Inclusive Gaming Spaces

We partner with conventions, libraries, and local game stores to ensure safe and equitable gaming environments.

Representation in Action

Alumni of Roll for Representation actively run games at conventions, bringing diverse voices and perspectives to the forefront.

Our Participation at Conventions

Roll for Representation plays an active role in bringing inclusive gaming to conventions across the Midwest and beyond. We host TTRPG sessions, lead panels on representation in gaming, and create spaces where everyone feels welcome to play.

If you’ve attended conventions like Who’s Yer Con and Geekway to the West, you might have seen us in action!

Volunteer with Us at Conventions

We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers from all over to join our mission. We are very active in the Midwest and need GMs in different cities to help staff the dozens of cons every year. As a volunteer GM, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Run inclusive, engaging games at conventions alongside our team.

  • Represent SHE and help create welcoming spaces for new and seasoned players.

  • Gain experience as a GM and connect with a supportive community of fellow gamers.

What you get:

  • A dedicated set of tables or room that we have setup with the con.

  • Supplies like pencils, dice, character sheets, and more to use while running your games.
