As nerds, the Super Heroines, Etc. team is always finding something new to nerd out about. In this series, we’ll share a few of the awesome discoveries we make when seeking out new movies, TV shows, books, comics, etc. Check out what we’re nerding out about this September:

Historic Fashion + Pinterest

Pinterest is much more than a way to find the newest mason jar salad recipes. It’s a great way to store inspirational images or keep track of your nerdy interests. Super Heroines, Etc. President Carolyn Noe has been using Pinterest to pin images of historic fashion – one of her many nerdy interests.

Project: Comic Con

Project: Comic Con is a locally born and run Comic Convention that hosts a wide array of special guests, creators, and 1200+ attendees. Taking place at the Westport Sheraton Lakeside Chalet, Project: Comic Con is focusing this year on Women Creators in Comics, and with a host of amazing featured women Super Heroines, Etc. is thrilled to be presenting FOUR panels, a film screening, and our Cosplayer’s Fashion Show fundraiser.

Our panels will include: Achievement Unlocked!, Geek Feminism, Creating Safer Geek Spaces, and Cosplay Bombshells. In addition, we are partnering with the St. Louis County Library to bring a free screening of Wonder Women, a documentary that follows the legacy of Wonder Woman through women’s liberation, which will be followed by an exciting talk back panel featuring Trina Robbins, comic artist and creator for over 30 years, herstorian, and who was featured in the film!
The convention takes place this October 17-18, and tickets can be purchased at www.projectcomiccon.com. Join us for this epic event!
