Supercharge your Summer Reading with A Podcast Blast from the Past…..
Okay, who had a mad crush on Geordi LaForge?
Who knows what comes after, “butterfly in the sky.”
Who wants a smooth voice with amazing sound production to chill out your summer?
If you answered yes to any of these….can we be friends? Oh and… you should be listening to “Levar Burton Reads,” the new podcast from Stitcher that’s free wherever you get podcasts.
Also…Levar Burton has aged really, really well!
Each week Burton will get your settled into your space, talk soothingly about how awesome stories are, then read you a piece of short fiction. The production values are amazing, the story picks are diverse, and the storytelling, is of course, masterful.
Now two seasons in, so far, I can tell you that only one story has not been my cup of tea. The first, Kin by Bruce McAllister is about a little boy and an alien, but they are not all science fiction. I also discovered a new author Lesley Nneka Arimah from the podcast who specializes in stories that center on Africa. It’s a great way to get to know new authors.
So go check it out… but you don’t have to take..my word for it (SQUEEE)
